I'm not big on making merch because the world is cluttered with enough disposable stuff and I think the clutter is not particularly good for the wellbeing of the theoretically sentient... so when I came across B Corp-certified Indonesian company TOPIKU I was stoked because their caps are made from 100% recycled/up-cycled save-from-landfill goodness AND their employees are paid a fair living wage.
These caps look great - they're a little more expensive than the average cap because undoing waste costs money and a lotta caps out there are made in sweat shops where people are not paid a fair wage. Please send me a message if you'd like me to sign inside the cap or on the back or front. You don't have to have it signed, I'm just giving you the option because I only did a limited run of of these babies and I am happy to sign stuff if that is your jam :)
YOU ARE NOT TOO MUCH AND YOU ARE ENOUGH is the title of my album out February 10th. The title is a line from my song HEART-SHAPED FACE which I dedicate to all the naughty kids who never made it through school. ADHD, CPTSD, Neurodiversity ...behaviours happen for a reason and we need to stop shaming confronting behaviours and help humans resolve their traumas.
Kids who are shamed become adults who find it difficult to just BE.
WE HAVE THE RIGHT TO BE UNAPOLOGETICALLY WHO AND WHAT WE AUTHENTICALLY ARE. We are all equal. Just because someone doesn't fit into the capitalism matrix doesn't mean they don't belong here. YOU BELONG. I BELONG. WE ALL BELONG. Like the wind in the trees the waves upon the sand the critters and crawlers and swimmers and swoopers... everything that exists BELONGS; we are no less and no more important than any other organism, mineral, whatever. The next time someone flips you in traffic watch them turn into a grain of sand and wash away into obscurity with the outgoing tide. Just as we all will. Go lie on the grass and stare up into endless time and space, you'll dissolve it all and solve it all soon enough. There's nothing to fear except fear itself. Stop identifying with the small ephemeral junk software...
